The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent State health restrictions have made it very challenging to plan and hold Commencement Exercises here at Morgan State University. As you know, the Fall 2020 semester started later this year and this necessary change has impacted our Academic Calendar. We postponed the Fall 2020/ Winter 2021 Commencement due to these circumstances. We are very disappointed that we have been unable to honor our most recent graduates in person; but we are committed to protecting the health and safety of Morgan faculty, staff, students, and look forward to being able to celebrate the achievements of our graduates as soon as it is safe to do so.
In lieu of a Fall 2020/ Winter 2021 virtual video celebration, Morgan State University has decided to move forward in planning in-person Commencement ceremonies for the end of the Spring 2021 semester for all of our Spring 2020 to Spring 2021 graduates (undergraduate and graduate students). As we follow State guidelines for the response to COVID-19 and take other precautions, we continue to remain hopeful that an in-person event will be possible.
The Morgan State University Commencement Committee will continue to meet regularly and will provide updates to graduates about the University’s evolving plans for Commencement. Please regularly check your Morgan email, Morgan Announce, and the Morgan State University Commencement web pages for the latest Commencement information and dates and times.
