Applying for Graduation


As announced, the published deadline date for applying for the December 2018 Graduation is Friday, September 28, 2018. Students should have filed for graduation online, as instructed by the emails sent to them from the Office of the Registrar.

If students applied for graduation in a previous term but did not meet the requirements to graduate, they should not re-apply in Websis, as they will be charged the $75.00 Graduation Fee again. Students should contact the Office of the Registrar by sending an email to — — and request to have their application moved forward to the next term of completion for graduation requirements.

Late Applications: Students who are permitted to submit late applications for graduation (after September 28, 2018 deadline) do so with the understanding and the agreement they may not be certified for graduation in time for the Commencement exercises on December 14, 2018 and their names will not appear in the December 2018 Commencement Exercises program booklet.


The policy of Morgan State University states only persons who have applied for graduation by the published deadline and have completed ALL academic and financial requirements for graduation will participate in the Commencement Exercises. There are no exceptions to this rule! In addition, participation in the Commencement Exercises, receipt of graduation invitations, the appearance of names in the printed program, or receipt of this information packet will not be considered evidence of graduation.


If students are unsuccessful in meeting graduation requirements for the Class of December 2018, they should email the Office of the Registrar at to request that their application be rolled forward for a future term by the published deadline date. STUDENTS MUST MEET BOTH FINANCIAL AND ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS. Students who complete requirements during the in the 2019 winter minimester may participate in the May 2019 Commencement Exercises.
