Applying for Graduation

GRADUATION APPLICATION DEADLINE

As announced, the published deadline date for applying for the Fall 2019 Graduation is Thursday, September 12, 2019. See information on Registrar’s page. Students should have applied for graduation online, as instructed by the emails sent to them from the Office of the Registrar.

If students applied for graduation in a previous term but did not meet the requirements to graduate, they should not re-apply in Websis, as they will be charged the $75.00 Graduation Fee again. Students should contact the Office of the Registrar by sending an email to — graduation@morgan.edu — and request to have their application moved updated to the next term of completion for graduation requirements.

Late Applications: Students who are permitted to submit late applications for graduation (after September 12, 2019  deadline) do so with the understanding and the agreement they may not be certified for graduation in time for the Commencement exercises in Fall 2019 and their names will not appear in the Fall 2019 Commencement Exercises program booklet.

ELIGIBILITY

The policy of Morgan State University states only persons who have applied for graduation by the published deadline and have completed ALL academic and financial requirements for graduation will participate in the Commencement Exercises. There are no exceptions to this rule! In addition, participation in the Commencement Exercises, receipt of graduation invitations, the appearance of names in the printed program, or receipt of this information packet will not be considered evidence of graduation.

RE-APPLYING FOR GRADUATION

If students are unsuccessful in meeting graduation requirements for the Class of Fall 2019, they should email the Office of the Registrar at graduation@morgan.edu to request that their application be rolled forward for a future term by the published deadline date. STUDENTS MUST MEET BOTH FINANCIAL AND ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS. Students who complete requirements during the 2020 winter minimester may participate in the May 2020 Commencement Exercises.
