Rehearsal

All graduating students must attend the Graduation Rehearsal.

Undergraduate Rehearsal:

Rehearsal for undergraduate students (those receiving the bachelor’s degree) for Spring 2020 Commencement will be at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020 in Talmadge Hill Field House. Students must bring their caps, gowns and hoods to the rehearsal.

Students will be instructed by the Chief Marshal, Associate Marshals and Deans on proto­col and procedures for being awarded the degree and about conduct during the Commencement.

Day of Rehearsal:
At the end of rehearsal students will report to the designated locations for their college/school to pick up their (1) certification cards, (2) Guest Admit Tickets, and (3) verification of participation card.

Certification Cards:
Each student will be issued one (1) certification card.  Only that student can use the certification card issued to participate in Commencement on Saturday, May 16, 2020.  The certification card will bear the student’s name and discipline (and Latin honors, if earned) and a special code that prevents duplication of the card. Once students receive the card, they should secure it in a safe place.  You must bring the certification card with you on Graduation Day. A student cannot be admitted to participate in the Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 16, 2020 without the certification card.

Verification of “Participation in Commencement” Cards:
Graduating students will be issued Verification of Participation in Commencement Cards at the end of Rehearsal. Students should (1) fill out the cards prior to Commencement and (2) bring them with you on the day of graduation. Ushers will collect the cards as you leave the Hughes Memorial Stadium to verify attendance and participation in the Recessional.

After students have completed these two steps, they will be prepared to report, at 8:30 am to the University Quad to line up for the processional for the Undergraduate Commencement on Saturday morning, May 16, 2020.

Graduate Degree (Doctorate and Master’s Degree) Recipients:

Candidates for the doctorate and the master’s degree will rehearse for Spring 2020 Commencement on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

At 4:00 p.m., a light fare will be served, prior to the start of rehearsal in the lobby of the Murphy Fine Arts Center.

Rehearsal will start promptly at 5:00 p.m. in the Murphy Fine Arts Center
